Image Processing Recognition Technique for Quality Control (Conveyor System)

Quality control is the most critical step in the manufacturing industry to ensure that the product quality is up to par. Malaysia's industrial sector is moving towards industrial revolution 4.0, in which most machines are connected, and production processes are accelerated. Human resources are still used in most quality inspection sections in the manufacturing industry. This project aims to create a defect detection method for image processing using MATLAB and evaluate the algorithm's effectiveness. The techniques used is grayscale, image enhancement, and image segmentation. This device is able to detect a few types of defects on the product surface. Furthermore, this device will be at a lower cost than the current device. This project can be a solution to provide a powerful technique for the quality control process in industrial applications.
