Microgenesis of the Tower of Hanoi Solution in the Light of the Dynamic Inhelderian Method

In this chapter, we present our own version of the microgenetic method which we will call the dynamic Inhelderian method. We will try to put some data to talk from Inhelder’s perspective. That is, we will try to approach the processes that underlie the activity that a child performs in real time in a specific situation that proposes to solve a problem. We will rely on the solid conceptual and methodological framework offered by Inhelder to analyze performance trajectories of preschool children and to uncover the schemes that guide their cognitive activity; the contribution is to do it from a dynamic perspective. This dynamic view allows us to think and reflect on development since it is a methodology that unveils the meaning of phenomena from a microgenetic perspective (Valsiner J, (1997) Culture and the development of children’s actions: a theory of human development, 2nd edn. Many of the ideas developed here are based on what was exposed in Chapters “Introduction” and “ Following the Path of Inhelderrian Method ” of this book on the essentials of the microgenetic method and microgenesis developed by Inhelder.
