Understanding Pandemic Pedagogy: The Role of Innovative, Inclusive, and Compassionate Pedagogies During a Global Health Crisis

This chapter serves as an introduction to the book, beginning by describing community colleges and the underserved students at their center. The chapter then explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on these students and the particular challenges community college and underserved students faced when the world went online. These challenges inspired the post-pandemic pedagogies and blended learning strategies the chapters in the book propose, and Chap. 1 concludes with descriptions of the subsequent chapters.
