Contributions to Policymaking

  • Mustahid Husain

摘要

This chapter examines the contributions of Canadian policies aimed at promoting the mental well-being of youth of colour, with a particular focus on the Bangladeshi Muslim community in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). It discusses the challenges faced by this community, including systemic racism, socio-economic pressures, and social disconnection. The chapter highlights the importance of ensuring equitable access to mental health services, developing culturally relevant programs, investing in community-based support, raising awareness, addressing trauma, combating systemic discrimination, and supporting research and innovation in digital mental health. These policies aim to create an inclusive society where all young people can thrive, regardless of their cultural or religious backgrounds.
