摘要

The advent of wireless technology has revolutionized handheld and wearable devices. When comparing battery technology to other aspects of portable device technology, it becomes evident that it has been a bottleneck in the innovation of miniaturized electronic devices. In this paper, a wireless power harvesting system was designed and analyzed. The Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) chip was produced using 2.5 V devices in a 90 nm CMOS process. The target performance was to wirelessly power a 10 mA load with 1.8 V. The objective of the WPT system implemented in this work can be achieved with a system efficiency greater than 50%. The inductive link power transfer efficiency for strong and moderate coupling was reasonably good, yielding a measured WPT system efficiency of 46.1%, considering the rectifier only as the Power Management System (PMS).
