Energy Sovereignty: What Role Can Digitalization Play?

Digital technologies play a vital role for all businesses around the world, as digital (big database) and information enable better predictions and decisions. Here we are talking about a system that works autonomously and faster, with reduced costs and the possibility of connecting to networks in conjunction with supply chains. In this regard, you can imagine the effective role that digitalization will play in a new and sensitive area like that of renewable energies which has become the topic of conversation of the hour in the world through giant projects (On transmission networks and distribution, or small projects on the roofs of houses, shops and others). Digital transformation has broken through one of the widest doors in the renewable energy industry. For example, digitalization tools and platforms help build renewable energy plants with automated processes to make informed decisions such as remote control of photovoltaic and wind farms. Additionally, digitalization reduces downtime and provides alerts based on predictive maintenance and anticipation of facility maintenance. In this sense, the proposed intervention will try to analyze the role of digitalization in the field of renewable energies. In addition, an axis will be dedicated to an empirical study via a questionnaire on Google forms, and using SPSS software to enrich this work and give reliability to the results and findings mentioned.
