Unpacking Adaptive Online Learning: A Detailed Literature Review

Learning is an endless process that takes place at every level of existence. People constantly seek out new information, evolve with the times, and use a variety of tools and platforms to improve their learning process. This literature review explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) through adaptive online learning (AOL). It examines several adaptive online learning systems to identify methods and practices for creating comprehensive and scalable systems. We provide valuable information about the strategies used by adaptive online learning systems and their effectiveness in achieving desired outcomes. This paper is structured into sections that provide a general description of adaptive online learning, the essential modules that enable an adaptive online learning system to perform, the challenges and issues facing this field, and a review of existing solutions. We conclude by outlining the prospects for future work.
