Application of IoT Technologies Oriented to a Vehicle Safety System

摘要

This paper describes the development of a security and tracking system applied to vehicles, integrating technological advances based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The proposed solution employs low-cost and open source hardware, generating vehicle locking and unlocking functions. A dual approach is presented: control via radio frequency for immediate interventions and commands via a Telegram bot, the latter with Google Maps integration for precise location. Radio frequency guarantees responses of 2 to 3 s depending on the distance of action, while the use of Telegram offers an average range of 12.3 s with a location tracking accuracy of up to 2.4 m, being suitable for urban environments and large roads. Research shows that the effective range of RF control is up to 15 m, with signal reduction beyond this distance due to environmental and physical factors. Even so, the system remains effective and operational for theft prevention and emergency management in vehicles, standing out as an essential tool in contemporary vehicle security.
