Innovations in the Control of an Intelligent Electronic Scoreboard Using IoT

The present work is focused on the development of an application for the control of electronic scoreboards in sporting events within an educational institution using IoT technology based on low-cost Arduino and ESP8266 devices. The goal is to solve the identified drawbacks of traditional systems such as intermittent keypad connections and lack of remote control. A Telegram bot is implemented that facilitates remote control of the scoreboard from anywhere with Internet access, thus having significant advantages in terms of ease of use, configuration and the possibility of receiving real-time notifications. System response times of between 4.83 and 5.00 s are obtained depending on the Internet connection and the command executed. It is highlighted that this solution provides significant benefits in efficiency, cost savings and the possibility of remote diagnostics, which highlights its effectiveness and practicality for the modernization of educational and sports facilities.
