Optimization of Acoustic Wave Transmission in a One-Dimensional System Using the Parallelepiped-Shaped Local Copper Patch Resonator

摘要

The transfer matrix method (TMM) is used to study the transmission of acoustic waves in a one-dimensional system, such as a guide tube of length d1. To improve the performance of this system, a local parallelepiped resonator (patch resonator) of dimensions L × h is added to the outer surface of the tube. By using a copper patch, we’ve created a resonant environment that effectively absorbs sound waves at specific frequencies. The main objective was to obtain frequency stop modes for a specific frequency. They also show how various changes can impact the position of modes in the relation between patch height and length. Specifically, we found that increasing patch length causes these modes to move to lower frequencies, while the opposite effect is observed as patch height increases, also, the material of the patch plays an important role. This work has numerous applications in many fields, such as industrial noise control, which offers the possibility of developing more effective attenuation methods. For communication devices, the study helps improve sound quality, facilitating clearer voice communication.
