A Decision Making Approach for Implementing Blockchain Technology in Africa
摘要
Agriculture is universally recognized as one of the pivotal industries responsible for safeguarding the integrity of our global food supply chain. However, with the increasing world population, the exigencies of agri-food production have surged, prompting a compelling shift from conventional agricultural practices towards the realm of smart agriculture. This transition is imperative to meet the escalating demands while ensuring food security, quality, and sustainability. In this paper we aim to identify and to rank the facilitating factors according to their importance and their ability to promote the adoption of BT technology in African agriculture with the VIKOR method. The results of our analysis provide valuable insights into the most important enablers that should be harnessed to promote competitive and sustainable agriculture in Africa. By identifying and prioritizing these factors, policymakers, agricultural stakeholders and technology developers can make informed decisions regarding the adoption and implementation of blockchain technology in the African agricultural sector.
