Effect of Employee Training in the Air Cargo Logistics Industry in Nigeria
摘要
The importance of employee training in any industry cannot be overemphasised. However, many industries lack adequate employee training because organisations within the industries view investment in training as overarching. This study examines the effects of employee training in air cargo logistics in Nigeria to encourage commitment to proper and adequate training that enhances efficient delivery in the industry. The study applies Kirkpatrick’s (1998) model to highlight the four levels of the model as effects of training in the air cargo logistics industry. A survey of 232 respondents with simple random sampling in administering a questionnaire for data collection was recorded. The study employed Structural Equation Modelling (SEM-PLS) to analyse the data. The result found that training enhances positive employee behaviour, learning, and reaction and results in efficient delivery in the air cargo logistics industry in Nigeria. The study concludes that organisations within the air cargo logistics industry must pay proper attention to investment in employee training since its effects will yield more profit to the industry through efficient delivery.
