Roadmap for Adopting Risk Analysis Using an Electronic Tracking System in Supply Chain Strategy: A Descriptive Study of Transit Trade Mobility in Emerging Country

This study aims to clarify the roadmap for adopting an automated risk analysis system for the private supply chain (SC) strategy in the Jordanian Customs Department as an emerging country and to provide a clear and organized scientific approach to effectively control and monitor the transport of goods in transit within Jordanian territory through adopting and using modern technological tools such as the electronic transit trade (TT) tracking system. The electronic form that the Jordanian Customs Department could adopt and implement in its plans. Therefore, through the roadmap proposed in this study, the Jordanian Customs Department applied and used risk management by identifying and using appropriate selective criteria pre-determined on the system on a non-discriminatory basis to control the classification and sorting of incoming or outgoing shipments according to their danger, sensitivity or customs duties. Due, to including goods in transit within Jordanian territory. Therefore, in this study, the importance of risk management and analysis emerged as a basis for classifying and sorting various shipments, including goods in transit, and as a guideline for the various border and crossing administrations based on scientific foundations and standards to target high-risk shipments from various sources, while at the same time not neglecting to facilitate the movement of trade that is previously based on Systematic and/or low risk. The qualitative methodology was adopted in this study by conducting several personal semi-structured face-to-face interviews with the participants conducting these interviews with risk managers, information technology managers, communications and network managers, freight drivers for goods in transit, and commercial partners of the Jordanian Customs Department. This is in addition to referring to some secondary sources related to the subject of this study, such as statistical reports, annual reports, and some previous studies, in addition to reviewing the literature to collect qualitative data necessary to complete this study.
