A Simulation-Based Sensitivity Analysis for Thermally Activated Building Systems

In the present paper, a linear partial correlated coefficient (PCC) based sensitivity analysis for TABS is performed using a Trnsys model. Whole input parameters were divided into two types, one of which concerns building physics and the other concerns TABS control philosophy. For weekly heating demand and peak heating load, the sensitive order of the input parameters is the same: the thickness of the exterior wall insulation, window area, the thickness of the exterior wall concrete slab, internal gains and building orientation. For weekly cooling demand and peak cooling load, the sensitive order of the input parameters is the same: window area, building orientation, internal gains, the thickness of the exterior wall concrete slab, and insulation. For the TABS control philosophy, the most relevant parameter is water supply temperature, followed by the water supply intermittent operation schedule and supply water flow rate. What has been done in this paper will provide a reference for TABS optimization and control strategy development.
