In recent decades, robotic surgical technology has significantly influenced various visceral surgery subspecialties. The integration of advanced features, such as tremor filtration, three-dimensional visualization, and wristed instruments, has transformed procedures in bariatric, hepatobiliary, foregut, and gallbladder surgery. These innovations address challenges in obese patients, hepatic surgeries, foregut procedures such as Nissen fundoplication, and cholecystectomies. While benefits include improved ergonomics and multiquadrant access, debates persist over cost-effectiveness and operative time compared to traditional laparoscopy. The emergence of alternative robotic systems, such as Versius, Hugo, and Senhance, further diversifies the field, heralding a dynamic era in robotic visceral surgery with ongoing debates on outcomes and costs.
