Diseases of the Honeybees
摘要
Honeybee colonies are vulnerable to various conditions, including illnesses and parasites. Varroa destructor and Tropilaelaps clareae are two examples of non-native parasites that have caused significant damage to European and North American colonies. Both of these parasites are considered to be highly destructive. Honeybees are susceptible to a wide variety of illnesses when they are alive. The Varroa mite poses a significant danger to European honeybees. When honeybees are in the larval and pupal stages, they are susceptible to illnesses that harm their brood, such as American foulbrood (AFB) and European foulbrood (EFB). Nosema is a sickness brought on by a microorganism that only possesses one cell. There is a high probability that bee colonies have dormant forms of viral illnesses such as chronic bee paralysis virus (CBPV) and deformed wing virus (DWV). There are a wide variety of insects that, in some way or another, benefit from honeybees. These insects include wax moths and pollen mites.
