Artificial Intelligence and Automated Educational Broadcasting in Nigeria: A Futuristic Technesis for Today’s Consideration

  • Ubong Andem Obong

摘要

This work attempts a futuristic technesis on the need for automated educational broadcasting to be implemented in Nigeria. It proposes that the implementation of AI-driven automated processes, protocols, and resources in educational broadcasting in the country will herald multi-layered effects with profound consequences for learning contexts and outcomes. There are presuppositions in the work that the multi-layered effects that will be heralded by the affordances of AI-driven automated processes, protocols, and resources will consequently usher in functional and dysfunctional inputs for educational broadcasting. The theoretical frameworks that underpin this futuristic technesis are provided for by two techno-deterministic theoretical traditions: the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Media Ecology theory. For a robust AI-driven automated processes to be fully implemented and adopted in Nigeria’s educational broadcasting landscape, it is recommended that concerned stakeholders should engage the OTS framework. The OTS framework specifies that AI-driven automated protocols and resources should have ‘operational-resourcefulness’, ‘technicity and technological-integrativeness’, and ‘solution-orientedness’ in mitigating challenges that are likely to arise in the automated learning encounter.
