Leveraging on 4IR for an Effective Educational Broadcasting in Nigeria

This paper examined educational broadcasting in Nigeria and the impact of emerging technology: the Fourth Industrial Technology on it. Particular attention was paid on an aspect of 4IR which is Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is an artificially created human-like intelligence that can learn, reason, plan, perceive or process natural language among other things in a machine. The three types of AI were x-rayed: Narrow or weak AI, General or strong AI, and Artificial super intelligence of which the most widely used in Nigeria is the Narrow or Weak AI. The most rapidly developing artificial intelligence technology used in educational broadcasting is intelligent voice technology. The application of this technology will undoubtedly enhance the quality and speed of educational broadcasting in our Nigerian schools. This paper also examined some of the challenges encountered in the application of AI in Educational Broadcasting.
