Imagery
摘要
Using imagery is a natural and effective method for integrating many kinds of memory and keeping an external focus of attention. We use imagery when we imagine any aspect of music in our minds by using our human senses. We should first attain a correct auditory image of music so we can follow the rule, “hear first and perform toward that goal.” The benefits of auditory imagery, motor-skill imagery, linguistic imagery, and breathing are presented. Incorporating emotional imagery creates the strongest memories due to the brain structures involved. Finally, imagery facilitates anticipatory imagery and proprioception which help to optimize working memory as we practice, memorize, and perform.
