Cyber operations, or CyberOps, is a rather vague term used with varying meanings in the context of attacks and defenses within digital infrastructures. CyberOps could mean activities to coordinate and strengthen the ability to withstand cyberattacks, which include cyber threat intelligence (CTI). The term cyber operations can also have the meaning of offensive tactical and strategic cyber activities carried out by states or by groups sponsored by states. CyberOps are also related to cyber warfare which refers to the use of cyber attacks, hacking, and digital espionage as a means of conducting warfare or achieving strategic objectives in cyberspace. Cyber warfare is a growing concern for governments, businesses, and individuals worldwide, as the reliance on digital technologies and connectivity continues to increase. Efforts to regulate cyber warfare are ongoing at regional and international levels, but have so far achieved very little.
