摘要

The integration of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and graphene has garnered significant attention in the field of photocatalysis, particularly for water splitting applications. The chapter provides an overview of the fundamental principles of photocatalysis, highlighting the importance of water splitting as a sustainable method for hydrogen production. It discusses the unique properties and synergistic effects of combining LDHs and graphene, which enhance the photocatalytic performance for water splitting applications. It then highlights the distinctive characteristics and advantages of LDHs and graphene as photocatalytic materials. The synergistic effects arising from the combination of graphene and LDHs are discussed in detail, including the improved light absorption, enhanced charge separation, and extended lifetime of photoexcited charge carriers.
