Food and food-related practices, while carrying out the primary task of feeding, go beyond to fulfill the cultural task of nourishing. In the experience of migration, practices related to food are especially important since they can connect the private realm with the public sphere, and memories of homeland with the journey provisions. By sharing dishes across time and space, migrants recreate their home communities within the host environment and at the same time, being confronted with otherness, incorporate food experiences of the new contexts. 摘要

Furthermore, food choices stem from creative interpretation, as the ethnographic example presented herein illustrates by means of a graphic novel related to the field experience within the European project Food2gather, and adopt the concept of ‘foodways’ as common theoretical background.
