A Method for Efficient Simulation of Production Lines Through Software-Supported Cooperation Between Production and Simulation Experts

Production simulations are associated with considerable effort, among other things due to the knowledge transfer between the domain expert and the simulation specialist. For small and medium-sized companies, this often represents an economic hurdle when using the simulation. This article presents a method for software-supported collaboration between the production expert and the simulation specialist, which leads to a significant reduction in effort. In this way, the advantages of the simulation can be used economically even with low optimization potential.
