Conclusion: The Future Opportunities for Police Education in HEI

This book provides an insight into one HEI’s delivery of two of the current educational pathways—PCDAPolice Constable Degree Apprenticeships (PCDA) and DHEPDegree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP)—required of police constables to complete and thereby become substantive in the role. It is important to note this is the current position because the subject of police training has been over many years, and continues to be, a topic that is regularly debated by many in the world of policing, in wider society, and by politicians of differing parties.
