Investigation of Metering Technologies Suitability for Hydrogen and Hydrogen-Natural Gas Blends Accounting
摘要
This paper reviews the flow and volume metering technologies regarding hydrogen and hydrogen-natural gas blends. It covers conformities to standards, vendors’ considerations of meter suitability for hydrogen, and the main challenges with hydrogen metering. Also, a brief description of hydrogen metering challenges for specific metering technologies, particularly diaphragm, rotary, thermal-mass, ultrasonic, turbine, and Coriolis meters, is provided. The article also refers to the existing meter manufacturers who designed meters suitable for hydrogen and hydrogen-containing blends. Still, due to trade secrets, the methodology of pure hydrogen and hydrogen-enriched natural gas metering and volume correction is unknown. Thus, it is proposed to check the correctness of measurement readings using artificial neural networks or regression analysis.
