We have left the aetiology of autism to the vaccine correlation thesis, but chronologically it is necessary to take a step back. Up to DSM-III, we can speak of ‘early autism’. The distinction between ‘first autism’ and ‘second autism’ that I adopt in this book and in Chapter 2  was introduced by Bonnie Evans in Evans, B. (2013) A definition of ‘second autism’ needs to be introduced. In Chapter 7 we saw and examined the most recent diagnostic criteria considered by the medical clinic. But we must go back and try to better understand what the new path was historically based on and the theoretical foundations on which the new paradigm was built. In summary, this chapter will discuss Lorna Wing's new definition of mind, the new theory of cognitive dysfunction, the theory of central coherence, the cognitive phenotype theory, the theory of the extreme male brain, the logic-mathematics model, all from the Anglo-Saxon school, and we will see how this new defining model has become epidemic and globally widespread.
