Modern Education in Africa
摘要
Analyzing modern education of Africa with emphasis on curriculum development is helpful to lay a foundation for African education, i.e. to have its own education that will have a great contribution for its development. In other words, it is helpful to project the future education of Africa. This chapter examines Precolonial, Colonial, and Postcolonial perspectives of Education in Africa particularly connected with philosophy of education, curriculum development, and other related issues. The impact of colonial education is also the focus of this chapter. In order to overcome the negative impact of colonization concept such as de-philosophization/de-epistemologization of the African space is part of the discussion. Furthermore, the reconstruction of philosophical and epistemological platforms of education in Africa particularly connected with curriculum is the main part of the discussion.
