摘要

Embodied AI systems, also known as embodied artificial intelligence, represent a category of AI systems that are physically integrated into tangible entities. These systems can interact with and manipulate the physical world, utilizing sensors to perceive their surroundings, making decisions based on gathered information, and often possessing the capacity for physical interaction. They can adapt and learn from their interactions and may operate autonomously or in conjunction with humans. Additionally, embodied AI systems can combine their physical attributes with digital AI components for tasks like language understanding and complex decision-making. In the healthcare industry, embodied AI is gaining traction as it is applied to various use cases to enhance patient care, streamline operational processes, and advance medical research. The robotic surgical platform assists surgeons in performing minimally invasive procedures with precision and dexterity. Surgeons control the robot to execute surgeries, resulting in smaller incisions, reduced pain, and faster recovery times. Embodied AI-driven exoskeletons aid patients with mobility challenges in regaining their ability to walk, providing support and facilitating recovery after injuries or surgical procedures. The utilization of embodied AI in healthcare holds the promise of improving patient outcomes, reducing medical errors, and elevating the overall quality of care. The outcome of this chapter paves towards the applications of embodied AI system in healthcare system.
