Lifelong Learning for Capability: In Formal Learning Locations (Schools, VET and Higher Education and Organisations)

This chapter suggests a case for the development of Lifelong Capability across all the levels of Formal Education. It examines and critiques aspects of Early Childhood provisions, and proceeds through the “journey” levels of Primary Schooling, Secondary Schooling to VET and Higher Education and Organisational Learning aspects. The chapter also stresses how Lifelong Capability is necessary in the educative (learning) process. This may necessitate different or alternative structures or operational plans for Education and Schooling formal systems.
