Issues and Challenges Affecting Human Learning

This chapter discusses some of the Issues and challenges that have emerged in examining Human Learning over many decades. While some are differences in concepts and theories, others, such as the emergence of neuroscientific evidence about brain functioning, the mind, and the impact of this evidence on what we understand about learning are significant. The six issues canvassed in this chapter include: Conscious and Unconscious learning; Of Binaries and Metaphors; Learning Places; The Mind, Neuroscience, Holism and Embodiment; The Matter of Artificial Intelligence; and Learning and Teaching, Pedagogy, Didactics and Beyond.
