摘要

The discussion will consider technological constraints, accessibility issues, equipment costs, ecological validity, ethical challenges, privacy management, and the problem of technoreligions. By addressing these limitations, the aim is to develop a realistic and informed understanding of the current state of VR applications in psychology and to recognize that VR is more than just a set of technologies. Subsequently, possible future perspectives will be outlined, considering potential technological advancements, the development of a conscious approach to technologies, integration with artificial intelligence, new paradigms in research and therapy, and evolving ethical considerations. Citing Riva (Comprehensive Clinical Psychology, 91–105, 2022): The term “virtual reality” consists of two elements: “reality” (the actual state of things) and “virtual” (almost or almost as described). Thus, we can say that the concept of “virtual reality” essentially indicates a “quasi-real” or “similar to reality” reality, implying that VR represents a form of reality simulation. It is precisely this simulation capability that allows VR to pave the way for exciting application scenarios. The intention is to produce a complex reflection that starts from the limits and highlights, through critical analysis, the horizon toward which to aim for a conscious and politically correct use of new technologies.
