Introduction
摘要
This chapter explores the transformative potential of Virtual Reality (VR) in the realm of psychology, emphasizing its applicative reach from therapeutic settings to educational environments. VR technology not only augments traditional psychological practices but also redefines them, offering immersive experiences that enhance patient engagement and emotional presence. These capabilities make VR an invaluable tool in treating anxiety disorders, phobias, and PTSD, utilizing controlled, replicable virtual environments that simulate real-world challenges without the associated risks. Additionally, VR’s application extends to educational psychology, where it improves learning outcomes through simulated, multisensory educational environments. The chapter discusses both the technological aspects of VR, such as immersion and presence, and its psychological impacts, including enhanced cognitive processing and emotional response. It concludes by examining the prospects of VR in psychological practice, emphasizing ongoing research and ethical considerations.
