Performing Authorship Online
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of the evolving landscape of authorship in the digital age, focusing on how writers perform their roles in online spaces. It considers the construction of digital personas, management of public images, and engagement with readers through social media. Using a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and X (Twitter) data analysis, the research highlights the complexities of the performance of authorship. Findings reveal a predominantly positive sentiment in online writing communities, despite varied personal motivations and challenges. The overall study also addresses the digital divide, affecting both authors and audiences, and underscores the importance of authenticity and self-presentation in digitally mediated environments.
