The Bohr Model in Chemistry
摘要
The famous Bohr model of an electronElectron rotating around a proton via their Coulombic attraction, has provided the first example of a bound atomic state corresponding to the H atomH atom. The very elegant resulting solution of the electronElectron rotational mode equations provide an almost perfect description of the H atomH atom and of its energy levels and thus open the road for more complex molecular applications. The treatment is classical with the resulting rotational speeds barely reaching a hundredth of the speed of lightSpeed of light, however there is a significant effect when examining heavy elements.
