摘要

The history of AI is most fairly captured by first acknowledging the philosophical ideas that inspired the eventual creation of AI. As early as the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, inventors created “automatons” which are referred to as the early ancestors of robots. The word “automaton” comes from Greek and means “acting on one’s own will.” These self-operated mechanical creations included automatic wine dispensers to water operated orchestra automatons whereby falling water would rotate drum pegs that then moved levers which created different sounds.
