Crisis Resource Management: Training the Responders

Crisis Resource Management aims to improve safety through better management of teams. Whilst most experience has been cited from the aviation industry, Crisis Resource Management has been widely adapted for use in healthcare. Crisis Resource Management focuses on the “non-technical skills” of leadership, teamwork, communication, situational awareness and support. These skills are crucial for the management of deteriorating patients and rapid response teams.
