摘要

As patient deterioration develops, the outcome is significantly affected by the delivery of safe, accurate, and timely emergency care. Although the response of the medical and nursing personnel is essential, lack of prompt access to equipment, medications, and supplies can lead to negative consequences. A quality rapid response system (RRS) should develop a program where equipment, medication, and supplies are incorporated into the process. Ultimately, not only are the personnel and resources an important component of the RRT, but also the competency, training, and understanding of the tools available to them become imperative to improve patient safety and deliver successful outcomes. In addition, there should be a structured and predictable method for ensuring that the equipment and medications are always available to be delivered to the deteriorating patient.
