摘要

The context of recently highly exploded digital transformations and following-up innovations increasingly influences the relationship between citizens and public authorities. This chapter explores how innovative approaches in public administration can either bridge or exacerbate the gap between citizens and public authorities based on what we call the digital realism approach. We focus on the Bulgarian case to explore why citizens mistrust or are discontent with elites in the context of the transition from democratization to digitalization.
