Immersive’ refers to providing a total involvement or literally immersing the user into an activity that makes the user have a feel of it even without a physical touch. This rather making intangible as tangible. For clarity, a video game plunges the user into the game even making the user feel the world inside the games as a real-world. This is ‘Immersive’ aspect. Introduced primarily for gaming experiences and for Application Software’s (App’s), it has now grown as a technology called Immersive Technology. The Immersive Technology provides a merger of Physical World with the Digital World through Simulation of the reality so that the learner is able to get ‘hands on experience’ even without physical handling of the gadgets on which the learner is getting trained. On the Global front, Immersive Technologies have taken specific positions in pedagogy as Immersive Learning Technologies (ILT). ILT’s are technical and quality enhancement for ICT’s. Two Principal Type of these Immersive Technologies are Augmented Reality (AR)—where the reality is simulated through real-time data for a specific usage (Ex: Google Maps, Digital Compass and so on) and Virtual Reality (VR)—where head-mounted gadgets take the users to a world providing them tangible experience of virtual world. The usage of this technology has reached many without any notice of the technology. Immersive Learning Technologies are now in the form of AR, VR, Mixed Reality (MR), Extended Reality (XR) and Metaverse technologies. Tourism Education, especially Airport Operation Courses, have fantastic opportunities for the usage of ILT’s. In this background, this paper attempts to assess the Potentials and Prospects of usage of ILT’s in Airport Operation Courses among the stakeholders namely airport operations trainers and trainees, so that pedagogy for these courses can provide greater clarity and confidence to make the wards consummate in their learning.
