With the advancement in blockchain technology, the digital currencies have been emerging in India, one such currency is cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency even after its existence since 2008 in India, has not attained by the individuals. The success of such currencies is dependant upon the awareness about the cryptocurrency. In this regards the banks can help the individual investors by creating awareness and confidence towards safety by providing custodian services towards cryptocurrency. Thus, this study mainly focuses on awareness levels about cryptocurrency among banking professionals. To achieve the purpose of the study primary data is collected from 64 samples through simple random techniques and used frequency, percentage, Chi-square test, mean rank and structural equation model to analyse the data. The study reveals that in general banking professionals are aware about cryptocurrency basic terms, top 5 cryptocurrency among them bitcoin is more familiar and top 5 cryptocurrency apps among them CoinDCX apps are more familiar. Among socio economic factors, factors like age and gender does not have significance influence to awareness level whereas academic qualification, designation and annual income influence the significance of awareness level. The author concluded the paper by giving recommendation to take future steps towards policies formation to regulate cryptocurrency in India.
