This research work aims to analyse the economic and health-related status of women fish vendors. The women's fish vendors are facing various occupational problems which start from fish procurement to the sale. They are earning a meagre income to sustain their livelihood. The examination of the status of women's fish vendors has been done through the primary data collection from sample respondents. A simple random sampling method has been adopted to collect the information from the women fish vendors. The coastal areas in Chennai have been selected for the collection of information from sample respondents. Collected data was tabulated, analysed, and inferred and conclusions were drawn. It is identified that 36% of women fish vendors are illiterates and 88% are migrants. The mean income of the women fish vendors was recorded as Rs. 10,240 which is lower than the minimum wage set by the government. They are also pretentious with various occupational health injuries and harassed by local officials. It is found that women fish vendors in the study are economically poor and socially vulnerable.
