Frustrated and Quenched Systems

In this chapter we review some more advanced topic. We discuss frustrated and quenched systems and then focus on spin glasses, introducing the replica trick. We present the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick (SK) model, deduce the naive solution with unbroken replica symmetry, and then outline Parisi’s exact solution of the SK model with broken replica symmetry and a functional order parameter.
