A Corpus Study of the Russian Locative Variability
摘要
The chapter considers the problem of variability of Russian masculine nouns used in the locative singular. The study was performed on the basis of an extra-large text corpus Google Books Ngram using computer methods. We identified the frequency characteristics of the competing noun forms used in the locative case, determined the dynamics of their use, and revealed the factors that influence the choice of one form or another.
