Information Theory and the Arts

In this, as in the previous chapters of this book, whenever we refer to the application of IT to some field or to an experiment, we actually mean application of the SMI (and a few derived quantities such as mutual information). Specifically, we shall review in this chapter a few applications of SMI (referred to as entropy) to some aspects of arts.
