Targeted Agents and Immunotherapy

This review examines the role of targeted therapy and immunotherapy in managing brain metastases (BM). Previously, medical therapies had a limited effect on brain metastases, but recent developments have shown promise. This chapter focuses on driver mutations in lung, breast, and melanoma therapies and their outcomes. Additionally, we discuss the unique genetic alterations found in BM. We emphasize the importance of personalized systemic treatments. Lastly, the review includes a section on the use of immunotherapy agents and their initial trial results in treating brain metastases.
