摘要

For environmental science and agricultural engineering, the study of aerodynamic separation systems for biogenic particles holds significant promise and interest. This chapter describes the innovative methods and technologies designed to efficiently separate and capture biogenic particles from various sources, such as agricultural activities, biomass combustion, and other natural processes. The vertical, horizontal, inclined, and centrifugal systems present unique advantages and applications within the field. The vertical setups provide precise control; horizontal designs offer versatility; inclined devices serve some specialized purposes; and centrifugal separators boost high-throughput capabilities. In this chapter, the readers will gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles of these systems, their functionalities, and recent advancements driving their development. This chapter aims to shed light on the current landscape, challenges, and future directions of aerodynamic separation systems for biogenic particles and facilitate their use in exploring the mechanical behavior of granular flows. Emphasizing enhanced efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and improved particle purity, this chapter should serve as a valuable resource for researchers, engineers, and practitioners looking to employ and leverage aerodynamic separation systems across various industries and scientific pursuits.
