Pedagogical Guidelines for Vulnerability in Postmodernity

Each era that forms the course of humanity holds different characteristics and demands, perhaps some of them will persist over time, indicating components that have influenced our constitution as a species; nevertheless, other elements are emergent and respond to the plurality of contextual settings. The condition of vulnerability shares both domains, persists, and emerges but so does the multiplicity of efforts to address it. Therefore, this text presents some pedagogical guidelines for the attention of vulnerability in postmodernity, as a significant potential to respond to the demands of the contemporary world has been found in education, especially for those who are most vulnerable. The content is divided into three sections: a conceptual approach to postmodernity and its implications on the subject of human vulnerability is presented in the first section; the second one describes some ethical tendencies of postmodernity, due to the influence, favorable or not, that these have in the constitution of the human relations; finally, the third section conducts an analysis on the social potential of educational institutions and their responsibility in the perpetration of oppressive speeches or, on the contrary, in the creation of critical narratives.
