Climate Change Impacts on Mangroves: Need for Resilience Mechanisms
摘要
This chapter discusses climate change effects on mangrove ecosystems and the critical need for resilience strategies to protect these essential coastal habitats. Mangroves, which are very sensitive to environmental changes, face growing challenges from rising temperatures, sea level rise, and extreme weather events. The study emphasizes the need to deploy resilience strategies to improve the adaptive ability of mangrove ecosystems. By investigating climate change-induced stresses on mangroves, this research hopes to highlight the need for proactive efforts in protecting the ecological services and biodiversity associated with these coastal forests. Broadly, this chapter covers important aspects such as climate change and mangrove vulnerability, the need for resilience mechanisms, recent adaptation strategies, and important indicators of mangrove resilience followed by successful case studies.
