Development of a Knowledge Base for the Assessment of the Threats of a Road Accident During the Operation of a Driving Car

An algorithm is presented that makes it possible to identify at an early stage emergency combinations of heterogeneous events that occur during the movement of an unmanned vehicle. The authors of the chapter identified the factors that affect the safety of the movement of an unmanned vehicle with their classification according to the source of the threat of a traffic accident. Also, in the course of the work, an analysis was made of the factors affecting the threat of a traffic accident during the operation of an unmanned vehicle in terms of determining the variables that characterize these factors. At the same time, the vehicle traffic safety variables are presented in the form of linguistic values. The main elements of the proposed algorithm are the knowledge bases for determining the threat of a traffic accident, formed on the basis of the analysis of variables of two-factor and three-factor combinations of accidents during the operation of an unmanned vehicle. The proposed algorithm can be used in the design of traffic safety systems for an unmanned vehicle, the identification of the threat of a traffic accident, and the development of decision-making systems to prevent traffic accident threats. In the course of the work, a simulation of the threat of a traffic accident was carried out when the technical condition of the on-board equipment and the braking system of the vehicle changed. The simulation results made it possible to determine the values of the variables characterizing the technical condition of the vehicle, under which emergency conditions of its operation may occur.
