Conclusions

This book is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between authorities from all over the world in their respective fields. Tumours of the head and neck are a unique group of cancers due to their particular location. The head and neck region is extraordinarily vascularised and innervated. All the sensory organs on which our quality of life depends are located here. Therefore, extensive diagnostics and interdisciplinary treatment are demanding and difficult.
